Theme Interpretation: I wanted to try out using 13th chords so I made a little riff using Ableton's Chord MIDI effect on a stock instrument. After getting stuck in the hole that is the 4-bar loop I decided it needed some sort of spoken word. On Archive.org I found a documentary from 1971 on the Mojave Desert, seeing as Death Valley may reach 130 degrees today, hence the title. I clipped a few lines and isolated them from the music as much as I could. If Boards of Canada can do it...
It's not much but I hope it's enjoyable. :)
