Theme Interpretation: With technology being such a broad topic, I went to a few of the things that inspired people to make music with technology. Original, I know. I used the Arturia Emulations of the Moog Modular (for Wendy Carlos and her pairing of well known Bach music with the - for the time - the very alien synths) and the SEM (for the BBC Radiophonic Workshop) as well as the DX7 (pretty much everything else in my early exposures).
On my stream, I was showing off the default setup of the Modular VST and clicked a couple keys and based the backing rhythm melody off that. I added a few atonal glitch loops to round things out.
I titled it "Continuation" because it felt like the piece was derived from the technology that preceded it, but not as something that improved on the past -- Switched on Bach isn't inherently better than a harpsichord recording of the same works -- but rather the evolution. And in the back of my mind, feeling that 2021 is just a continuation and not some end of time makes the name seem appropriate.
