Theme Interpretation: My initial thinking was to work with changing instrumentation representing the advancement of technology in general and directly affecting the development of instruments. I basically followed that path, but wound up with something much more ominous than I intended, which feels to me like the mythical creatures we banished in antiquity having returned in the machines and electronics of the modern era...and they're not happy.
