Theme Interpretation: I tried to follow the Water theme by depicting someone drowning in the ocean through song; getting sucked out by a tidal wave and desperately trying to swim back to the shore but running out of energy before they get there.

Also, while most of the piece is improvised - had to cut out about one minute twenty seconds of unusable parts - the themes in the beginning/end come from a (much happier!) song I wrote in 2015 called Breathless, which was about an actual mermaid, hence the title.
