Theme Interpretation: I thought about the idea of the actual parts in the music twisting together and across each other, melody and bass trading places, that sort of thing. The idea of being somewhat unconventional, as putting a "twist" on something also came to mind: working in notation software rather than a standard DAW, but then scoring for electronic instruments. Using (mostly) irregular meter. Picking a slightly masochistic key (C# minor).
